With over 25 years of related experience, Brice Neugebauer is currently working as a geophysical consultant and client representative for the offshore seismic services industry.
Brice Neugebauer was born and raised near Bismarck, North Dakota (USA). He attended the Colorado School of Mines where he earned a B.S. degree in Geological Engineering (Petroleum Exploration Emphasis).
While still at the University, he began working for a small E&P company by the name of Celsius Energy. In 1996 he moved into the seismic services industry, taking a position in Operations for Western Geophysical at their Denver office. In this position, Brice gained valuable experience with tenders and survey design, and worked in a supporting role for land crews operating in North America.
In 1998 Brice joined PGS and moved to Houston, TX where he worked as a processing geophysicist at their industry-leading data processing centre. In 1999 he took his first offshore position, joining the QC and processing department on one of PGS’s “Ramform” multi-streamer vessels.
Within a few years he was promoted to Chief Geophysicist at PGS. Brice would go on to lead the geophysical department on what was then PGS’s only 4-Component Ocean Bottom Cable crew as it tripled its recording capacity over the following years.
In 2006 Brice joined RXT, also in the position of Chief Geophysicist, bringing his years of OBC experience to an expanding company. Here he was instrumental in developing procedures and work flows which would become standards for the fleet. Brice would also become involved in tender reviews, client presentations, and vessel riggings as the company quickly expanded from one to five crews.
After five exciting years with RXT, Brice moved back into the towed streamer market, taking a position with Polarcus DMCC as Chief Field Geophysicist onboard one of their 12-streamer capable vessels. While with Polarcus he gained additional multi-streamer experience in India, the North Sea, New Zealand, and Australia.
Brice Neugebauer has worked as lead client and seismic QC representative for E&P companies ranging from super-majors to small start-ups, and with seismic contractors including CGG, PGS, WesternGeco, Polarcus, Fairfield, Magseis, BGP, and Seabed. He is an active member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), and lives in the United States. He is available for projects worldwide.

Experience you can trust
Experienced lead / seismic QC representative capable of overseeing all aspects of seismic surveys (conventional towed streamer and multi-component ocean bottom acquisition), with the aim of maximising operational efficiency, ensuring that the job is performed safely, and that the quality of the recorded seismic data is not jeopardised. Able to ensure contractual compliance, perform quality control of all products and reports produced on the vessel, monitor survey wide statistics and attributes, and carry out essential navigation QC using industry standard software packages. Generation of start-up, intermediate, and final survey reports as required.

Background in data processing, with previous experience leading projects from field tape through pre-stack time migration in a major onshore processing centre. Familiar with designature, noise removal techniques, demultiple, velocity analysis, migration algorithms, etc. Recent experience overseeing fast track processing for wide-tow 3D marine seismic surveys and meeting tight deadlines.
